Caroline Shaw CBE is a senior healthcare executive with extensive experience across healthcare delivery, clinical leadership, operational transformation and life sciences.

Experience

Caroline has more than 30 years’ senior healthcare leadership experience across the NHS, independent healthcare, digital health, and life sciences. A clinician by background, she began her career as a nurse/midwife before moving into senior management and executive leadership.

Caroline is currently Interim Chief Executive of Locala Health and Wellbeing. Her previous roles include Chief Executive Officer of Evergreen Life; Chief Executive Officer of The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King’s Lynn NHS Foundation Trust; and Chief Operating Officer and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

Caroline was also Chief Executive Officer of The Christie NHS Foundation Trust, Europe’s largest single-site cancer centre, where she led the development of its Patient Treatment Centre, which housed the world’s largest single-site early-phase clinical trials unit.

She brings extensive experience in strategy, clinical governance, commercial growth and improving operational and financial performance. Caroline holds an MSc in Healthcare Policy and Management and was awarded a CBE in 2013 for services to the NHS.
