Dr. Elisa Masat is an immunologist with over 15 years of experience spanning translational research, clinical development, and scientific leadership within the CRO and biotech sectors.
She brings deep expertise in immunology and infectious diseases, with a strong focus on designing and implementing analytical strategies that support drug development from preclinical stages through late-phase clinical trials. Her work centres on laboratory-based readout and assay strategies that generate meaningful insights into immune responses to vaccines, antivirals, and antimicrobials, enabling informed, data-driven decisions across development programmes.
As Principal Development Scientist at hVIVO, Dr. Masat leads the R&D team, providing strategic direction across immunology and virology programmes. She oversees assay development and validation, ensuring high-quality, regulatory-compliant delivery while partnering closely with global clients and cross-functional teams to address complex scientific and clinical challenges.
Prior to hVIVO, she held senior roles at Charles River Laboratories, where she led immunology, inflammation, and cell and gene therapy programmes for global pharmaceutical and biotech clients. She also conducted postdoctoral research at INSERM (Paris), focusing on immune responses in rare diseases and gene therapy. She is known for her thoughtful, collaborative approach and strong scientific insight.
