Alex Lima

Dr. Alexander Lima is a Senior Study Physician and Principal Investigator at hVIVO, bringing extensive experience across clinical research, infectious diseases, internal medicine, and respiratory critical care. 

Since joining hVIVO in August 2022, he has contributed to more than 10 clinical studies, with a particular focus on characterisation studies, investigational medicinal product studies, vaccines, influenza, RSV, asthma, and human rhinovirus research.

Dr. Lima has served as a sub-principal investigator on multiple studies, including vaccine trials and investigational treatment studies for influenza and RSV. He has also played a key role in participant recruitment and screening, having supported the successful recruitment and screening of more than 600 subjects for hVIVO studies.

Dr. Lima holds specialist training in Tropical Medicine and Infectious Diseases from São Paulo, Brazil, and completed PhD training and postdoctoral research at Erasmus MC University Rotterdam in the Netherlands. He is also certified in ARTP Spirometry and Lung Function Testing, and is a member of the General Medical Council, the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine, the Brazilian Tropical Infectious Disease Society, and the Association of Clinical Research Professionals.
